There is so much to do at the Cook Nature Preserve and such a shame you are not able to do any of it, as the Preserve is strictly private and not open to visitors.
For those fortunate enough to secure a personal invitation, enjoy wildlife viewing from the nature boardwalk. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a raccoon family playing in the pool or a bear cub standing upright, stretching to reach a colorful ball suspended overhead. Our Bear Necessities gift shop offers a variety of logoed merchandise, snacks, and souvenirs. A canoe tour on the Wekiva River offers an opportunity to see amazing birds, alligators, river otters, and fish in the crystal clear spring fed waters.
By now you have probably realized this is a parody website and have marveled at the wit, humor, and amazing creativity that have gone into this elaborate spoof. The truth is that the Cook Nature Preserve is really just our backyard, a few acres of Wekiva River frontage with an abundance of amazing wildlife.
